Rarotonga is the main island which makes up the 15 beautiful islands of the Cook Islands. An idyllic tropical island surrounded by reef that shelters the lagoon, with many varieties of tropical fish and turquoise water that laps against the white sandy beaches - this is paradise!

Rarotonga Backpackers offers five beautiful locations on the island, and all with easy access and proximity to everything that this small piece of paradise has to offer:

Our multi-level HILLSIDE property is located in a secluded spot, 300 metres from the popular Raemaru track yet still only 400 metres from the beach and coconut rat race, and offers dorm and bungalow accommodation, with a beautiful swimming pool right at the heart of the complex.

Our nearby BEACHFRONT complex offers doubles and triples with ensuites, triple/twin/single/dorm with shared facilities, beach huts and self-contained beachfront units as well as a beach house for larger groups, all on the beautiful sunset side of the island, and with its own swimming pool too!

Just down the road from our beachfront complex we have our GARDEN bungalows: 4 x self contained studio units in idyllic surroundings close to the beach and main road on sunset side of the island.

On the North Coast of the island, you can choose between either our fully contained 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house in TUPAPA, only 2km from Rarotonga's capital, Avarua, heading East, and with beautiful lagoon views; or our NORTH COAST BEACH house and studio: a 3 bedroom fully self contained house, or a fully self contained unit located right on the beachfront with amazing lagoon and sea views [SPECIAL DISCOUNT December 2011 only: $80 per night!]: both on the same half acre site only 4km from Avarua so it's great for large groups ... Fantastic value for money!
